Will there be a higher cost to bring compost materials to Casella vs trash? When will we be able to bring compost to Casella's with our trash/recycling?

Are there more options for people who generate very little trash - fewer pickups/month?

  • You can sign up for them to come every week, every other week, or even longer. It costs less money if you sign up for fewer pickup times.

What's going to happen with all the compost created by our trash haulers after ACT148 is in full effect?

  • Not all food scraps will be turned into compost. Not wasting it is the first step, second is feeding food to people that need it and that can use it. Food unfit for human consumption is directed for use as animal feed, composting and energy production through the use of anaerobic digesters.
